Berg Brothers Setters has been one of the top English Setters breeders in the US for over 35 years.  We evaluate 30+ English Setter puppies annually and select only truly elite individuals for breeding.  This level of selection over a very long period of time allows us to produce exceptional natural ability.  By also focusing on the mental make-up of our dogs, we produce easy to train dogs that are also great family companions.  

Our dogs hunt very diverse cover from the wide open prairie to extremely dense cover for ruffed grouse.  Consequently, the most productive dog is a medium range dog that adapts his/her range to the cover.  The ideal being a dog with the drive necessary to be an elite bird finder combined with the biddability that makes a dog a pleasure to hunt over.

Tekoa Mountain Farms is a combination of “Quality and excellence” as a result of 45+ years of dedication and experience with English Setters and fine gaited horses. ALL of Tekoa’s breeding males and females will be DNA tested, Hip Certified, and registered American Field. All breeding males have frozen semen available. All females to be live bred must have a current, negative Brucellosis certificate issued by a licensed Veterinarian.

Our Kennel has produced numerous Champions competing at the highest level including the great Tekoa Mountain Sunrise.

Outcast Kennels is a full-service kennel operation devoted to developing bird dogs to their highest potential.  Owner / Operator James Kleve is the son of a professional trainer.  James grew up around dogs and had the benefit of having a great mentor while learning about bird dogs  and he started training on his own as a teenager.

Hillcrest Kennel has been Breeding, Training, Field Trialing, and offering our English Setter’s for sale since 2013. We are extremely selective in the selection process we practice.  Therefore, we only breed a couple of litters each year and they are always a product of careful selection.

Our selection process is focused on producing exceptional English Setter’s for serious upland bird hunters.  We also DNA Certified and all dog’s over 2 years of age are OFA Hips Certified.

Jim and Zach have been competing National Shoot to Retrieve field trials for 15 years.  NSTRA is a great way to evaluate dogs as breeding stock for the traits that make a wild bird dog. Dog’s must find game in an effective manner, hold solid point, retrieve to hand and honor another dog. 

The quality of Llewellin Setters from HHLS is something we are striving to continue. In fact, it’s the very reason we are involved in this ownership transition. We love these dogs and the last thing I wanted to happen was to have the HHLS legacy be just a memory. Laura has done a great job of creating one of, if not the best all-around upland hunting and companion breeds a person can own. The qualities of the Llewellin breed, safeguarded by Laura through her program, will continue as we take on ownership. From the frustrations of searching came the desire to establish a kennel that produces the finest  English Setters as a pet, a bird hunting companion, or field trial winner. In the 20 since our inception, we have placed hundreds of English Setters and have hunted upland game in seven states. All sires and dams are hand-picked, and are all proven in the field or on the circuit. We breed for desire to point, desire to hunt, intelligence, willingness to please, and most importantly for nose. At Southern Setters you have a reliable source of not only great bird dogs but great hunting companions.

SRK was started about 20 years ago in Rock Falls, Illinois. We now live in Walnut, Illinois. Swift Rock dogs are used for NSTRA trials, walking trials, guided hunts, and wild bird hunting. We specialize in the raising of English Setters, and the training of all pointing, and flushing breeds.

High tailit Setters has been breeding fine Setters from the best field trial stock for over 30 years. We follow selective breeding practices and only produce a couple of litters each year from great individuals.

We run in field trials on occassion but we are primarily focused on great foot unting dogs.   Therefore, we breed for the traits that make a wild bird dog.
